Most Successful BIG3 Season 8 To Date Wraps Up in Orlando, Beginning Today

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the BIG3 announced the lineup of events for the 2025 BIG3 Championship Weekend in Orlando, FL, where the league's highly successful eighth season will conclude, tipping off at 2pm on CBS live from Addition Financial Arena. This is the most successful BIG3 season to date, with sustained exponential growth in viewership, social and digital engagement, sponsorship activity, and on-the-court competition. Throughout the weekend, the league will be hosting several events for fans and players that highlight some of the best moments of the season, the league's partners and sponsors, and more.

Starting today, Orlando fans can keep an eye on the sky for the Goodyear Blimp that will be providing aerial coverage throughout the weekend. Goodyear will also be providing players and their families blimp rides. There will also be player appreciation activations from partner Red Lobster, the title sponsor of the league's "Bring the Fire Rule" and supporter of the YOUNG3, the league's community outreach initiative. Fans can also tune in to their local iHeart Radio and CBS stations for exclusive interviews with Ice Cube and BIG3 players.

The Championship Gameday tips off with the 2025 All-Star Game at 2pm ET. The BIG3 All-Stars include Coach of the Year Nancy Lieberman, 3-pointer and blocks leader Earl Clark, Most Valuable BIG3 Man Greg Monroe, and assists leader Glen Rice Jr. The 2025 All-Star Game Rosters are:

Team BIG

Team 3

Nancy Lieberman

Nick Young

Dwight Howard

Greg Monroe

Earl Clark

DeShawn Stephens

Jonathan Simmons

Jordan Crawford

Corey Brewer

Glen Rice Jr.

Jeremy Pargo

Frank Nitty

The All-Star Game will be followed by the 2025 Championship Game, with a matchup that no one would have imagined at the start of the season. After a brutal loss to Bivouac last year, Michael Beasley, Reggie Evans, Mario Chalmers, and Sean Williams are reuniting in the Championship Game as part of the all-new Miami 305 for the grudge match of the century. After a dominant start to the season, Miami let their foot off the gas and stumbled towards the end, but delivered a textbook performance against Power last weekend, with 4th Man of the Year Lance Stephenson scoring 23 points and Beasley scoring 22 points. The Chicago Triplets had almost the opposite season, starting off in rough shape and quickly falling to the bottom of the standings. After Jason Richardson went down with injury, the season looked to be over, but the addition of Orlando-local Brandon Moss was a game changer. The Triplets head into tomorrow's Championship game on a four-game winning streak.

Season-to-date, viewership on CBS is up more than 25%, with last weekend's telecast up almost 50% over the same period in season seven. The 219-minute broadcast reached more than 790,000 viewers on CBS, recording the highest CBS viewership of the season by more than 200,000 viewers. The final playoff game between the Dallas Power and Championship-bound Miami 305 averaged 958,000, the highest-rated BIG3 game in CBS history. BIG3 social channels have seen triple-digit growth across key metrics such as views, followers, and engagement rate, garnering 735 million views so far season-to-date, up 402% year over year. This year, the league also launched the 3's and Ones podcast, hosted by Chris Haynes and Michael Beasley with guest commentator Ice Cube, which has exploded in popularity in less than three months.

ABOUT BIG3:
On January 11, 2017, the BIG3 was born. The first-ever professional FIREBALL3 league is the brainchild of producer, actor, and music legend Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz, who shared a vision of a player-centric league focused on entertainment and innovation. The BIG3 is a league with no garbage minutes, where trash talk is allowed, defense is emphasized, fast-paced action, and where every point –whether it's a 4-point or 3-point shot – counts. Any given BIG3 team has hall of famers, icons and trailblazers, and the next best 3-on-3 player.

The league has led the sports industry in diversity and opportunity, becoming the first professional sports league to implement a mental health policy, favor CBD as a pain management alternative to opioids, enlist female coaches of men, and appoint a black Commissioner in Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler, who is also professional sports first former player serving as Commissioner.  The inaugural CEO was the legendary, incomparable Raider executive Amy Trask. This January 2024, BIG3 co-founder Ice Cube was honored at the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, where he received the inaugural Ice Cube Impact Award, acknowledging individuals making substantial contributions to their community, the first non-player to be recognized. Founders Ice Cube and Jeffrey Kwatinetz are missioned to better society as BIG3 pursues business success while also helping to break down stereotypes, promote diversity in sports, create opportunities for black, brown, and female athletes beyond the court, and support the black, youth, and basketball communities overall.
